Jesus was sent to the earth, born from the virgin Mary and became dependant upon man. He received His nourishment
from Mary's breasts and was taught and raised by Mary and Joseph. It was up to them to help get Him to His destination. God
needed Mary and Joseph to fulfill this plan to redeem mankind from sin. Of course God could have chosen other parents besides
Mary and Joseph, but He still would have relied upon them to raise Jesus the right way. He needed Jesus to be raised to know
that God is God and we are to worship and serve Him.
It is amazing to me to think that God still depends upon mankind. We are His mouthpieces upon this earth. Occasionally
we will hear of a supernatural visitation from God to tell someone about Himself, but usually He uses people like me and you
to spread His name throughout the earth. God is still dependant upon us today. What if Mary and Joseph had not taught Jesus
about God but had instead been lazy and assumed Jesus would live long enough to find God on His own? We have a role to play
in the earth that is important. We must do our jobs and stop thinking it is up to everyone else.
Like Mary delivered Jesus, we are still to deliver Jesus to a lost and dying world. Like Mary and Joseph raised
Jesus up to serve God, we must raise our children to accept Jesus as their Savior and to serve Him. We must tell the world
that there is hope! The world has steadily gotten worse since Jesus was here. It is lost and dying and will certainly be doomed
if we do not do our assignments from the Lord.
