Daily Devotional

I pray that this blesses your spirit today.

A man had finally finished his last session of counseling with his
pastor.  He thanked his pastor profusely for helping him in such a great
way in his time of need.  He also thanked the pastor on behalf of the
entire church through counseling countless others in the congregation.
He finally felt strong enough to go on with his life, because of the
wonderful job his pastor had done in giving him advice-using scripture
and testimony.  The Pastor hung in there with him when the man wanted to
give up; encouraged him when he didn't feel he could do anything right.
That pastor told him that we can do all things through Christ who
strengthens us (Phillipians 4:13) and to make sure that when he feels
like giving up, that he gives it up to Christ who is the author and
finisher of our faith, AMEN.  For many weeks the pastor gave him sound
biblical advice about life and the scriptures that applied to what he was
going through.

While leaving the pastor's office for the last time, he asked, "what
school did you attend that taught you how to counsel so well?"  The
pastor replied, "I didn't go to any school or seminary."  The man looked
confused and shocked; then asked, “do you have any credentials that prove
you are qualified to counsel people; especially people such as myself who
have a Ph.D.?  The pastor replied, "no."  The man asked, "how can you
counsel people without a degree or professional training?"  The pastor
asked him if he was aware that Jesus sent out the disciples to pray,
minister, counsel and help the lost.  He said, "yeah I know that, but
they were taught by Jesus."  The pastor replied, "well that same Jesus
taught me too, and that is why I was able to help you overcome your
crisis; because if a Ph.D. qualifies you for anything in the kingdom,
then you should have been able to counsel yourself!"

The pastor went on to explain to him that we don't need to waste time
with the middleman or worldly institutions, we can go straight to the
top.  I went to the Throne Room and sat at the Master's feet and learned
from the Wonderful Counselor.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:  There is a big difference between being appointed and
being anointed.  Anointed folks will go places appointed folks will have
to drive them to.  Don't worry about your condition; you overcome that by
knowing your position.  You are seated in heavenly places and God is
about to flip the script and put you in your rightful place because of
the anointing and those who have been appointed to attack you will have
to assume the position of a footstool..  Isn't God awesome, He said we
would be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath (Deut
28:13) and that the last shall be first (Matthew 20:16), AMEN.  When God
promotes you, make sure you tell people it was because of WHO YOU KNOW!
Tell them you know Jesus and He is the BOSS.
