God’s Grace
Tuesday, September 11, 2001 is a day
all Americans will remember. Terrorists hi-jacked four airplanes and used three of them to strike the World
Trade Center and the Pentagon.
The fourth crashed short of any target. Although thousands of people have been killed and possibly billions of dollars in
damage sustained, God was extremely gracious to the United States.
But we don’t seem to realize just how gracious God has been.
First, the United States
is overdue to experience the judgement of God. We have thrown Him out of every institution that bears the name United States of America. He is not welcome in our schools.
Each year we blithely murder millions of babies, born and unborn. For over a hundred years, as a nation, we have stolen, murdered,
and kept Native American peoples in poverty and hopelessness. We owe them multi-billions of dollars and their forefathers
a debt that can only be repayed in blood.
But, even in our weakness and total inability to prevent the tragedy we fail to say thank you. Reports
now indicate that Airforce One and /or the White House were also targets. Several thousands died and billions in damage were
sustained, but we could have been without a president and could have seen millions die and whole cities destroyed. One or
two tactical nuclear bombs or chemical or biological agents could have inflicted tremendously more damage and death.
We have geared up to prevent future attacks. All our resources are on alert, for the most part uselessly.
The terrorists accomplished their goal and nothing which our institutions, and security measures did had any effect. But they
will the next time! Those terrorists picked on the wrong people! This is the United
States! We can do whatever we put our minds to. As long as we pull together. Yet, one of the first reactions to the tragedy was for some of our brothers and sisters to
raise gas prices astronomically with only the greed and godlessness which the perpetrators of these recent crimes against
the United States protest as their motivations.
God has made a statement which, if we as a nation will listen and respond to in repentance and restitution,
will result in a strong, safe, prosperous nation which God can use for His purposes for another two hundred years. For the
present we have cried out in our pain and fear to God. But what will happen when things get back on track? If we follow the
pattern of other nations and other times we will forget God when we are filled and prosperous, and begin to worship other
Gods. If all we do is to rise up in our own strength and raise a façade of protection and well being about ourselves we will
suffer the fate of countless other nations.
We do not have to behave as Pharaoh behaved. Who time and again suffered at God’s hand for His
pride and godlessness because he would not recognize the hand of God and His power. Will we bend the knee to God almighty?
Will we who are called Christians humble ourselves, and pray and seek God’s face and to keep on seeking God’s
face? Will we choose to serve the Lord each day?
We must choose! God has no restrictions,
no limitations. He has the resources of the Godhead at His disposal. His plan and purpose will not be restrained by Pharaoh,
or the empty cries of those with God’s name but without His character, or by the pitiful resources of the United States of America. Thank you God for being so gentle!
Give us grace to hear what you are saying and to respond!
Listen to what God said in June of 1992 to His church.
For I am calling all who will hear to make a new sound, and to sing a new song. The song is the song
of victory and the noise is the noise of a great battle. I am calling all that will, to take up arms. I am sending forth the
cry of battle, and the sound of the Shofar. My people have been moderate too long! It is time to go to war!
The din of battle and the cries of the charging stallions shall cause the eyes of My Army to glow with
the white hot fire of My Spirit, for I am about to do a great thing in My Church, and in the earth.
No more will tradition and formality suffice. No more will My Church say we are fat. No more will they
be allowed to be complacent. They will repent or be judged. They will fight or fall away.
For I will bring an enemy against My Church who will not have mercy, nor stay his hand, but will utterly destroy!
Rise up, my people,
rise up. For the God of War has issued the battle cry, and those who fail to arm themselves with my armor, and who seek to
mingle with the leaven of Egypt will surely die!
