As I was looking in the search string on the website I saw that someone was searching on how to be renewed. The truth
is that we all need to be renewed or we can get into a stagnant state and eventually become stale and weak human beings.
As I searched the bible for the word renew I was surprised to see that it was listed at least 16 times throughout the
bible. Many times it is used as a way of renewing one's strength and it is also used in reference to renewing one's mind.
As I looked in the Webster's dictionary I found that it means to make like new: restore to freshness, vigor or perfection
and it compares it to the way we are restored in strength when we sleep.
If we think about how sleep renews us, then we can better understand the process of renewal a little better. We
would be a bunch of tired, grumpy, and dead people if we were not renewed daily by sleep.
We all need to be renewed spiritually. The bible says we have a spirit, a soul, and a body. We need to renew our spirits.
When we are born our flesh is the one that is catered to as we cry for food and the necessities of life. When we are born
again our spirits need to be catered to, or renewed. Our spirits need to be rejuvenated and built up and strengthened.
This way we can change our old way of thinking and see the ways of thinking that are true and right.
So how do we renew our spirits? We read God's words to us. We are priviledged to read God's own words and we neglect
it so much of the time that we are not renewed. God's word has the answers we need. When we feel that we are in a hopeless
situation we can go to God's word and read where it says that "With God all things are possible." If we have accepted Christ
as our Savior then we can understand the spiritual aspect that truly with God all things ARE possible. This is how we are
renewed. We are renewed to a higher level of understanding that is alive and vigorating. I pray that each of us are renewed
daily and that we are able to fly above the storms of life just like the eagle.
